Root Canal Retreatment
The system of nerves and root canals in your tooth is complex, so there are several reasons why root canal treatment with your dentist might not be successful the first time.
Our endodontists use their advanced skill and training to perform expert root canal retreatment to restore the tooth to provide many more years of function.
Endodontic Microsurgery (Apicoectomy)
If you have had root canal treatment and continue to experience pain or sensitivity, there may be remaining infection or inflammation near the root tip that extends into the jawbone.
In this case, Dr. Darrell or Dr. Shane may recommend endodontic microsurgery, also referred to as apicoectomy. Using leading-edge technology, they can provide efficient, pain-free treatment.
Dental Trauma Management
For your peace of mind, it’s always a good idea to schedule an appointment with an endodontist as soon as you can after a traumatic dental injury. Some dental damage is obvious, such as a visibly cracked, dislocated, or knocked-out tooth.
Even if you can’t see the damage, however, the injury can still affect the tooth’s pulp. It’s always a good idea to contact an endodontist after a dental injury who will ensure there’s no underlying damage and treat it if there is.
