As endodontists, Drs. Darrell and Shane Curtis have two basic goals: relieve pain and save teeth. Their advanced training allows them to provide expert treatment with skill, precision, and meticulous attention to detail. Dr. Darrell M. Curtis

Dr. Curtis grew up in Central Pennsylvania and graduated from Cumberland Valley High School. He received his dental degree from the University of Maryland in 2011. Following dental school, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland and served a three-year tour of duty as a general dentist at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany.

Dr. Curtis was accepted into the Air Force Post-Graduate Dental School Endodontics Residency and received his specialty certification in 2017. During that time, he received extensive clinical and didactic training in non-surgical root canal therapy, apical microsurgery, and trauma management. He also earned a master’s degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences for research that was ultimately published in the Journal of Endodontics.

Upon graduation, Dr. Curtis completed a three-part exam (board certification) en route to becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Curtis served a dual role as a clinical endodontist and staff dentist for eight AEGD-1 residents at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida from 2017–2021. In 2019, Dr. Curtis was honored to receive the Air Force Material Command Dental Educator of the Year award and the 96th Dental Squadron Field-Grade Officer of the Year award. Dr. Curtis cares deeply for the well-being of his patients and always seeks to provide a patient-centered and comfortable experience.

Dr. Curtis is married and has five boys. He spends much of his free time coaching and playing sports with his kids.

Dr. Shane J. Curtis

Dr. Curtis grew up in Central Pennsylvania and graduated from Cumberland Valley High School. He received his dental degree from the University of Maryland in 2014. Following dental school, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio and then went on to complete a three-year tour of duty at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. In 2017, he was named the Air Mobility Command Clinical Dentist of the Year.

The next year, Dr. Curtis was accepted into the Albert Einstein Medical Center endodontics residency program and received his specialty certification in 2020. During that time, he received extensive training in leading-edge techniques for root canal therapy, endodontic microsurgery, and trauma management. Dr. Curtis believes all patients should be treated like family and combines this approach with clinical expertise to provide personalized and comfortable endodontic care.

When he's not in the office, Dr. Curtis can usually be found at Hersheypark, Paulus Farm, or Adventure Park with his wife and three young children.
